# Artwork attribution — Quiet Inkling marketing site

This page's screenshots show the Quiet Inkling Android app displaying
separately licensed card artwork. The older screenshots were taken on a Daylight Computer DC-1. The updated saved-reading image is a native Android host render, described below.

## Arlecchino's Augmented Arcana (Color and Black & White)

Every card image visible in the site's screenshots comes from the two
worldwide-approved variants of *Arlecchino's Augmented Arcana*:

## Modifications

The card artwork was modified relative to the upstream originals:

1. **In the app** (as recorded in
   `app/src/main/assets/third-party/tarot-artwork-notices.md`): print bleed
   removed, source orientation applied, converted to sRGB, embedded
   EXIF/IPTC/XMP metadata removed, downscaled without upscaling using
   high-quality resampling, re-encoded as WebP for offline mobile display.
2. **For this site:** app screenshots containing that artwork were resized,
   cropped (the Open Graph image only), and re-encoded as WebP/JPEG
   derivatives in `site/assets/`.

## License scope

The screenshot derivatives in `site/assets/` depict CC BY-SA 4.0 artwork and
are shared under the same license to honor its ShareAlike condition. No DRM
or additional restrictions are applied to them. The Quiet Inkling application
code, copy, and the rest of this site are not covered by that license.

The app's authoritative Thoth card identities, names, printed titles, and
interpretations are Quiet Inkling's own `thoth-v1` data; source artwork never
changes a card's identity or meaning.

## Territorial scope

This site is worldwide-facing and uses only worldwide-approved imagery. No
US-only artwork sets (the `usDebug`/`usRelease` build types) appear in any
screenshot on this site.

## Study illustration

`assets/study.png` is the existing Quiet Inkling design-study render from
`docs/prototypes/study-room/renders/study-at-rest.png`, copied without alteration.
It contains sample entries and no third-party card artwork. The landing page
labels it as a design preview rather than a production screenshot.

## Saved-reading evidence

`assets/saved-reading.png` is copied unchanged from
`docs/screenshots/saved-reading-2026-09-06/after-portrait.png` from the saved-reading task worktree (`d157`). Production Compose/Skia was rendered with Robolectric and Roborazzi using synthetic sample data, not captured on a physical device. It includes worldwide-approved Arlecchino artwork by Yve Lepkowski and is shared under CC BY-SA 4.0 as described above. The PNG is unchanged.
# Landing-page orrery and handwriting

The decorative `assets/study-hero.webp` was adapted from the owner-selected Study
concept using image generation, removing interface text so the headline and
signup remain live HTML. It is an illustration, not a product screenshot.

The decorative `assets/orrery-vault.webp` was generated for Quiet Inkling's
landing page. It is conceptual ornament, not an Android screenshot. The web
manuscript uses sample text and does not record or play microphone audio.

`assets/dancing-script.ttf` is the unchanged Dancing Script font bundled in the
Android app. Copyright 2016 The Dancing Script Project Authors, Reserved Font
Name "Dancing Script". SIL OFL 1.1 is included at
`assets/dancing-script-OFL.txt`. Source and pinned hash: `docs/type-licenses.md`
in the source repository.

## Illustrated practice and scroll

`writing-tools.webp`, `tarot-linen.webp`, `botanical-paper.webp`, and
`reflection-scroll.webp` are generated decorative assets for this landing page.
The celestial cards are original conceptual illustrations, not the artwork or
card identities supplied by the app. Actual product evidence remains the linked
unchanged native saved-reading screenshot, credited above.

## Nighttime Study

`assets/study-hero-night.webp` is an AI-generated companion to the original Study illustration, created with the built-in image-generation tool. Prompt: preserve the exact illustrated Study composition and blank journal; transform daylight to forest-green nighttime washes, amber paper illumination and restrained gold celestial arch details; no new text or UI.
